A census is conducted every ten years in an attempt to find the number of people in the United States. This also determines the way federal funds will be dispersed among the states, setas in Congress and determining district boundaries. Your participation is imperative! The senior population is often misrepresented, largely in part of a snowbird lifestyle. If you live in Michigan six months or more of the year, make sure you are counted as a Michigan resident in the 2020 census.

There are a few ways to complete the 2020 census. Please visit becounted2020.com or call. To be counted online or phone you will receive a “unique ID code” from the US Census Bureau. Please see the information below and call the Valley Area Agency on Aging if you have questions about taking the 2020 Census.
