Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA) has been committed to the health, wellbeing and welfare of older adults. It is the reason we exist and drives our mission, goals, values and passion. We are committed to aging stakeholders, our team, older adults and persons living with disabilities who rely on VAAA’s programs and services to remain as independent as possible in the community setting of their choosing. The VAAA Board, Advisory Council and staff will always place our participants’ health, safety and wellbeing first and foremost.
As such, it is with great regret that VAAA has decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting due to the concern of COVID-19 virus spread. Our Board has not undertaken this decision lightly, as our VAAA team has worked diligently to create a memorable event to celebrate and share our accomplishments and to pay honor to many in the community, including our Centenarians. After thoughtful review and consideration, we are concerned with the health and safety of all attendees and reducing the risk of spreading any illness to our family, friends, co-workers, those we serve and the community at large.
If you have purchased a seat at the Annual Meeting, you have three options: Forward the fee to reserve your seat for next year’s meeting, donate the dollars towards senior services or receive a refund which will be given upon request. Please provide us with your email address and we will send you a copy of the 2019 Annual Report, so you can still enjoy and share some of our highlights and accomplishments. It will also be available on our website: www.valleyareaaging.org as of March 31, 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience, however again, your health and welfare are our first priority.
Within the next few weeks, our Board of Directors will make a determination regarding the status of our beloved Senior Power Day. Thank you for your partnership with Valley Area Agency on Aging (VAAA), and more importantly, thank you for your understanding as we do what we feel is the right thing to protect and care for our team, aging stakeholders, the community and our esteemed older adults.
