Fall Wellness and Caregiver Classes

Diabetes PATH (Personal Action Toward Health)

Designed to provide skills and tools to help people living with type 2 diabetes and their support system live a healthier life. It is a fun, interactive, six-week workshop led by certified leaders.

Mondays, September 11th – October 23rd @ 12-2 pm

Tuesdays, August 8th – September 19th @  2-3:30 pm

Wednesdays , September 6th – October 4th @ 12-2 pm

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program

a low-impact physical activity program proven to reduce pain and decrease stiffness. The routines include gentle range-of-motion exercises that are suitable for every fitness level.

The Exercise Program will help you:

  •  Keep joints flexible and muscles strong
  • Sleep Better
  •  Increase Energy
  • Improve your overall outlook

Matter of Balance 

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

You will learn to:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who should attend?

  • Anyone concerned about falls
  • Anyone interested in improving balance, strength, and flexibility
  • Anyone who has fallen in the past

Cost: $10.00 is requested to cover the cost of the participant manuals, but not required to participate in the class

Mondays, July 31st – August 28th @ 10:00 am-12:00 pm

Fridays, September 22nd – November 3rd @ 1:30-2:30 pm

Fridays, Septemeber 25th – October 27th @ 9:30-11:00 am

Savy Caregiver

If you are an active caregiver of a family member or friend with dementia living at
home, this workshop will help you gain the special skills and knowledge you will need to
be successful. The Savvy Caregiver will help you:

  • Understand the impact of dementia on both you and your loved one
  • Learn skills you need to manage daily life
  • Take control and set goals
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Strengthen family resources
  • Feel better about your caregiving
  • Take care of you!
