Proudly Serving Flint Seniors, Disabled Adults, and Caregivers

Since 1976, Valley Area Agency on Aging has been providing answers, action, and advocacy on care for the elderly and disabled adults of Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawassee Counties. We do this by enhancing lives, empowering choice, sustaining independence, and supporting caregivers and families. Learn more about the history of VAAA here. We are all things senior!

Seniors have raised us. Now they need us.

Our team is dedicated to providing the resources that keep seniors and disabled adults living as independently as possible at with dignity. VAAA is the bridge connecting seniors with the services they need. We have partnered with 90+ contracts and purchased service agreements with local organizations, which are then monitored for quality and effectiveness. We are honored to work with seniors, they have been there for us, and we will be there for them.

You can help seniors, too.

With continued support from our sponsored partners and the community VAAA is able to reach more seniors and expand the services we can offer. See how we put our donations to use below.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN 2022

With help from partnering programs and local senior centers, an array of health and wellness classes are available to help seniors care for their minds and bodies.  Additionally, we offer several programs to provide extra socialization and volunteer opportunities.

VAAA provides advocacy through outreach events, such as Older Michiganders Day or Senior Power Day, and through services such as long-term care ombudsmen, legal services, and health access information. Our goal is to help seniors stay informed and navigate care options.
